  • If our Club has several teams participating can we pay with 1 check?
    We prefer a Club sending several teams to pay with 1 check.  Please send us a list of the teams for which the check will cover.
  • If a team is not accepted, will we receive our application fee refunded?
    Yes, any team which is not accepted will have their registration fee refunded.
  • If our team is accepted and we cannot participate, will we receive a tournament refund?
    No, once a team is accepted and they cannot participate a refund is not returned
  • How many players are allowed on the field for small and large sided teams?
    Small-Sided (U8-U9) is 7v 7  ONLY 12 PLAYERS CAN BE ROSTERED PER TEAM
  • Small sided (U10-U12) is 9 v 9 ONLY 14 players can be rostered
    Large-Sided (U13-U18) is 11 v 11  ONLY 18 PLAYERS CAN BE ROSTERED PER GAME
    Can we bring guest or secondary players?
    Yes, we accept 5 guest players per team.  Secondary players are considered guest players. All secondary players must have their primary cards and be included on the tournament roster.  If required by your state, a guest roster may also be required. Please fill out this form for guest players.
  • ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE CARDS FROM THE SAME LEAGUE/ASSOCIATION

FOR EXAMPLE, YOU CANNOT HAVE A PLAYER WITH A CARD FROM NJYSA IF THE REST OF THE TEAM HAS US SOCCER CARDS!!!

    • When will acceptances be emailed?
      Acceptances will be posted on our website once payment has been received.
  • When are flights posted?
    Flighting will be posted on TBD.  We want the best flighting possible and team registrations are still coming in.  With the cancellation of age groups in other tournaments, we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to register and play.
  • When are schedules posted?
    Preliminary schedules will be posted on TBD.
  • When is registration?
    We prefer teams register Friday June 14th at the Pavilion at Rock Spring Park between 4 and 8PM or onlilne.

    • Can I register Saturday?
      We prefer all teams register Friday night due to the size of the tournament, although we will be able to register you on Saturday morning at the headquarters tent at your field location up to 90 minutes prior to your first game.  Please let us know if you are planning to come on Saturday to register by sending an email to [email protected]
  • What do I need to bring to registration?
      1. Copy of approved team roster that we will keep
  • Copy of tournament roster that includes player/coach ID numbers AND player jersey numbers that we will keep
  • Permission to travel if your state organization requires it – please check with your state
  • Player and coach primary passes (USYSA – state pass or US Club)
  • Medical Release Forms – Notarized if required by your governing agency – US Club does not require notarized forms
  • Emergency contact form (download here or pick up at registration)
  • All Player cards MUST be from the same Association / League (cannot mix NJYSA and US Soccer on one team).
  • Does my team have to play Friday night?
    No, only local teams or teams that requested a match Friday night will play. Please let us know at [email protected] if you would like to play on Friday night.
  • What time does the first match begin on Saturday and Sunday?
    Tournament play begins at 8:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
  • Are there any matches on Monday?
    No, the tournament is over on Sunday.
  • If I have a match Friday night, where do I register?
    All teams playing Friday night can register at the headquarters tent at their game’s field location 90 minutes before the start of the game.
  • Is this a patch tournament?
    Yes, all teams should exchange Club patches after every match.
  • Can we purchase tournament shirts by pre-order?
    No, there is no pre-order of t-shirts this year.
  • We are from out of the area how can we find a hotel?
    A list of local hotels are listed on our web site with contact information and approximate distances from our fields.
  • Where can we find directions to field sites?
    All directions are posted on the Tournament web site (www.highlandscup.org) on the Fields Page. By clicking on the field specific Directions link, you can get printer friendly version of the directions.
  • Does my team need to check in before every game?
    Yes; there will be a field marshal (yellow vest) at each field and teams need to check in 30 minutes prior to their game with their player passes.
  • Our coach/trainer works with multiple teams. Can we request separate game times?
    An email can be sent to [email protected] requesting that teams not to play at the same time, but due to the size of the tournament, requests may not be able to be fulfilled.  Please make arrangements for an alternate coach, especially since we will be using several different field complexes and different age groups may be at different fields.
  • Are scores posted to GotSoccer for small sided teams?
    No, NJYSA does not allow scores or standings to be posted for U8-U10 teams.
  • Where are scores posted?
    Scores are posted at the Headquarters tent at each field and on the web site for U11-U18 teams only.
  • Where do small sided teams pick up their participation gift?
    They will be presented at your field following your final game.  Please keep your team at the field, but move aside to allow the next team on the field to set up and begin their game.
  • Is there a championship match for large sided teams?
    Not necessarily; all teams will play four games. If the size of the bracket warrants it, the fourth game may be a championship game.  Please see the Tournament Rules to determine if you will be playing a championship game or not for your final game.
  • Where are trophies presented?
    Trophy presentation is at the headquarters tent at each field.  First and second place teams will receive their awards once first and second place for the flight can be determined.
